The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has commenced the implementation of a project to construct five new bridges on the Sohar–Al Buraimi Road, with a total cost of more than OMR 6 million. The actual completion rate of the project has reached 8%, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve the road network in the Sultanate of Oman.
The project is considered one of the vital initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and improving traffic flow along one of the country’s most important national roads. The Sohar–Al Buraimi Road connects the border crossings of Al Buraimi Governorate with the rest of the governorates of the Sultanate, thereby supporting commercial and economic activity.
The project has been awarded to Al Rimal Comprehensive Technical Services Company in partnership with Bagan Sant Mapana. The implementation period is 18 months, with completion scheduled for the end of 2026 in accordance with the approved project timeline.
This project forms part of the Ministry’s strategy to maintain a safe and integrated road network and to support comprehensive development across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
