Signing of the Al Mouj Road Development Project Agreement and the Associated Section of 18th November Street

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology today signed the agreement for the Al Mouj Road Development Project and the associated section of 18th November Street, with a total cost exceeding 44.94 million Omani rials.

The agreement was signed by H.E. Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, while it was signed on behalf of Strabag Oman by Sheikh Hamid bin Abdul Qawi Al Yafei, Chief Executive Officer.

 

The project aims to enhance traffic efficiency and improve flow, in addition to supporting commercial, economic, and tourism activities.

 

The scope of the project includes adding a third lane in each direction of the road from the Airport Bridge to Al Ishraq Roundabout towards Al Seeb Beach, the construction of a bridge and a four-way signalised intersection at Al Mouj Roundabout, and the construction of a flyover roundabout and an underpass for vehicles at the existing Al Bahja Roundabout.

 

The project also includes upgrading Al Ishraq Roundabout into a three-way signalised intersection with lanes ensuring continuous traffic flow towards Al Seeb Beach, as well as adding a third lane from Al Mouj Roundabout to Al Mawaleh Bridge, in addition to constructing two vehicle underpasses for traffic heading from 18th November Street towards Al Mawaleh Bridge.
