MTCIT launches a specialized training program in semiconductors

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology launched today a specialized training program in semiconductors, in collaboration with international experts, with the aim of building national competencies capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the electronic chip industry, which is considered one of the strategic industries globally and the foundation of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, communications, and computing.
The program aims to provide participants with the fundamentals of semiconductor manufacturing, introducing them to the stages of design, production, and testing, through theoretical training conducted in the Sultanate of Oman, and advanced practical application in Taiwan, thereby enhancing the trainees' readiness and deep understanding of the various stages of this vital industry.
The trainees were selected from among graduates of electronic engineering, computer engineering, telecommunications, and mechatronics, with priority given to job seekers. The selection was based on specialization, skills, and passing the personal interview.
The program will be held at the Al-Nahda Institute from December 1 to 25, 2025, with six hours of training daily. It includes a comprehensive training plan covering an introduction to the semiconductor industry, fundamentals of engineering design, various manufacturing stages, as well as testing and packaging techniques, and an introduction to semiconductor applications in modern systems.
The national competencies capable of engaging in the advanced technology sector and supporting the Sultanate of Oman's directions in building qualified capacities to contribute to this strategic industry that is witnessing increasing global demand.
