MTCIT Organizes Introductory Meeting on the Role of the IT Operations Governance Committee

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) today organized an introductory meeting aimed at familiarizing private-sector companies with the role of the IT Operations Governance Committee in the information technology sector. The meeting highlighted the committee’s key areas of work, priorities, and sector performance indicators, in addition to opening direct and effective communication channels between private-sector representatives and the relevant government entities represented in the committee.

His Excellency Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology, attended the event. They emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, exchanging expertise and perspectives, identifying optimal solutions to enhance operational governance, and unlocking new employment opportunities in the sector.

The meeting featured a detailed presentation on the “Tawteen” platform, outlining the registration process and its benefits, in addition to explaining the governance procedures implemented through the platform to enhance performance efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.

The session also shed light on upcoming priorities and their linkage to key performance indicators, reinforcing transparency, competitiveness, and sectoral growth.

The event concluded with an open discussion addressing challenges, observations, and opportunities for collaboration, while reaffirming the importance of maintaining sustainable communication channels to ensure mutual benefit and contribute to the achievement of national objectives.
