Royal Decree (68/2026) Amending Some Provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law

Royal Decree No. (68/2026) was issued amending certain provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law. The key amendments include modifying the scope of application of the Law and the cases exempted from its application. In addition, the amendments specify cases exempted from the requirement to obtain a permit for processing personal data and from the requirement to obtain the explicit consent of the data subject, as well as introducing specific provisions concerning the automated processing of personal data.
