MTCIT reveals details of the second edition of the Middle East Space Conference

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman and Novaspace have announced the organization of the second edition of the Middle East Space Conference, which will be held from January 26 to 28, 2026, in Muscat, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation and the Sultan's Special Representative.
The organization of the second edition of the "Space Conference" comes based on the success achieved by the inaugural edition, and the conference is expected to attract more than 450 top decision-makers, representing over 190 entities from more than 20 countries. The conference will bring together a select group of government leaders, space agencies, top executives in the space industry, investors, innovators, and academic institutions, with the aim of contributing to shaping the next phase of growth for the space ecosystem in the Middle East region. As a high-level platform for strategic dialog and partnership building, the conference enhances the position of the Sultanate of Oman as a pivotal gateway for space applications, infrastructure development, and attracting investments at the regional level.
A comprehensive program over three days
The conference program is scheduled to be prepared over three days, covering the strategic and operational dimensions and enabling factors for the development of the space sector in the region. The sessions will cover topics including national space policies, space agency strategies, satellite program development, ground segment systems, financing mechanisms, and international cooperation frameworks, with a focus on the evolution of the space landscape in the Sultanate of Oman. The program will also focus on the practical impact of space technologies, particularly in the fields of satellite communications and earth observation, and their role in supporting communication, urban development, the energy sector, climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Enhancing regional and international cooperation
The conference aims, by bringing together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, to accelerate the pace of cooperation, stimulate investment flows, and support the development of sustainable space capabilities that align with regional priorities and the dynamics of global markets. The conference also reflects the ambition of the Sultanate of Oman to play an active and distinguished role in the regional space economy, while enhancing its position as a neutral and forward-looking platform for international cooperation.
