As part of the Digital Transformation Forum activities, the United Nations Chief of the Digital Government Branch visits the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology
Muscat, XX 2024: As part of the second edition of the Digital Transformation Forum, Vincenzo Aquaro, Chief of the Digital Government Branch at the United Nations, visited the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology. During the visit, the key achievements of the Government Digital Transformation Programme were reviewed, including the roadmap for implementing Artificial Intelligence in the Sultanate and the progress made by the Sultanate in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, aspects of improving the digital government indicators in the Sultanate were discussed.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Digital Transformation Forum will commence at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology. The two-day Forum aims to highlight the efforts and achievements of government institutions in digital transformation and to explore the best regional and global practices. Furthermore, it seeks to anticipate future trends to maximise the benefits of innovative technological solutions, transfer knowledge, develop skills, and empower national talents to ensure continuous improvement and adaptability to global changes. The forum also aims to enhance governmental relations and act as a platform to foster new partnership opportunities between the public and private sectors in digital transformation.
Additionally, the announcement ceremony for the winners of the first edition of the Digital Excellence Award in the government sector will be held on Wednesday, tomorrow evening.
