On the Sidelines of COMEX Exhibition: Digital Cooperation Organization Holds First Observers Committee Meeting of 2024

As part of the COMEX exhibition events hosted at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre until Thursday evening, the Observers Committee of the Digital Cooperation Organization held its first meeting of 2024 today, Tuesday, chaired by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

 

The meeting, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Communications and Information Technology, along with a number of local and international companies working in the field of technology and the digital economy, discussed the initiatives offered by the organization to member states and observer members in various fields. These fields include digital foreign direct investment, public-private partnerships, as well as sustainability and innovation in delivering electronic government services, and other initiatives that contribute to developing and improving the digital economy ecosystem.

 

It is worth noting that the Sultanate of Oman is a founding member of the Digital Cooperation Organization, which includes 16 member states. Through its membership in the organization, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology works to exchange and import expertise with member states, and implement a range of projects with the organization in various fields including data governance, expansion of tech small and medium enterprises among member states, and stimulating foreign direct investment, in addition to assessing the readiness and maturity of the digital economy in the Sultanate of Oman.
